WW 2 # 6

I can’t remember how long we slept , but I know it wasn’t long enough.

The sirens went off again. This time it sounded much louder. Our Nana that’s what we called our babysitter was still with us at the apartment. Years later I found out that she made the decision to stay with my Mother to help instead of going home to be with her husband. Besides it wasn’t very safe to be outside.

The fires all around outside lit up the sky as we hurried to the basement with our pillows and blankets. As the bombs where falling people screamed and cried in terror, but my Mother stayed calm and that helped to comfort us. In later years she revealed to us that she prayed to God to help us to safety with no one getting hurt.

She promised God to make sure that every one of her children will get to know him. The bombs continued falling coming closer and closer.
